Red Snapper Rockfish

The snapper is one of my favorite forms.  The jagged steel fins contrast with the smooth surf-tumbled stone.  This is a fine specimen, weighing in at 88 lb.  It's length is 39 inches and height is 20 inches.  The width is 16".  The proud owner of this rockfish sculpture is Gertie Seymour.  She was very patient in waiting for her Red Snapper Rockfish to be fabricated.

Gertie's husband, Allan, decided to display the sculpture fastened to a steel plate which was anchored to the rock wall in front of their home, I peened-over the heads of the fasteners so they could not easily be unscrewed. Chances are that these measures will keep the sculpture from theft.

The sculpture stands out against the blue sky.

The use of steel threaded rod cast in epoxy into the rock wall guarantees the sculpture will be difficult to remove and relatively safe from theft.
