Snapper Rockfish Sculpture
This is an image of a Snapper Rockfish Sculpture. The snapper is a very
attractive fish form and I have made several versions of it. I like
opportunity to cut the fins so that they provide angular contrast with
the smooth stone.
Snapper Rockfish are some
of my favorite subjects, all have very conspicuous dorsal spines and easily
recognizable shapes. Their colors are often red or rusty brown.
This one found a permanent home during the 1999 Laguna Beach Festival of
Arts.
