The sculpture body is made from 1/2" steel plate with 1/4" plate for the fins. The first dorsal fin and anal fin are made from railroad spikes. Teeth are concrete nails. On this commission I attempted to accurately portray the fish because the client is a diver . He has personally seen these ominous fish up close. The dogtooth snapper is one of the more formidable predators in Mexican waters. They are a challenge for the fisherman asthey always seek shelter in submerged caves.
